It’s September 11, 2009 today but I feel like it’s 2001. It’s like a total disaster.
After 453 days (two years minus absences, leaves and holidays) of office, it’s technically my last day. Kahit na hanggang katapusan pa ang buhay ng opisina, pinayagan na kaming ‘wag na pumasok kung wala namang gagawin, but they assured na buo pa rin ang sweldo for this month (yeah!). I started working there October 1 2007, so saktong two years ako dun.
So I decided this day to be my last office day, yung ibang projects e dito ko na lang sa Lucena gagawin, parang freelance job na lang.
I gathered and packed all my things, my toys and my books. Also, the softcopy of my personal files and projects files. Babalikan ko na lang yung ibang naiwan ko before this month ends, I thought.
Pinutol ko na rin renta sa inuupahan kong bahay kaya wala na akong tutuluyan if ever mapunta ako sa Manila, but that’s fine with me. I’ve been at that exact situation before.
Usually, every lunch, I just log out my computer then login again after meal. Pro kanina parang nagtampo ang computer kong halos two years kong katrabaho. Nasa recovery state sya when I came back from lunch. I did everything to revive the Operating System because apparently there is a corruption of system files, but my actions mysteriously worsen the OS’s condition hanggang tuluyan nang di mag-boot.
In Windows 7, it’s a very rare case, considering the file system and the file structure itself, it’s not impossible but it’s very unlikely. At isa pa, yun ang pinaka-worse na problema ng computer na nakita ko sa buong stay ko sa kompanya.
Eight years ago, kasama ang WTC7 sa nag-collapse. Kanina, W7 (Windows7) ang nag-crash.
While still trying desperately to analyze the problem, I thought, “Damn, what for?! It’s my last day, why bother.” So pinabayaan ko na lang.
“Umalis ka na nga baka maiyak pa ako.” My friend said while I’m expressing my goodbyes.
