What is your favorite movie? How many times you’ve watched it?

Me, I've seen My Sassy Girl about fifteen times in four years and you wouldn’t believe what’s next to that: Li and Chan’s Forbidden Kingdom.

In less than two months, I've watched it five times already! All inside a travelling bus from Manila to Lucena and vice versa. The first time I saw it, it’s not even showed on Philippine screen, that’s why it’s a cam quality (handycam-captured movie from cinema). But the next four viewings was rather in a better quality.

I watch My Sassy Girl all over again because I wanted to but this Forbidden Kingdom, damn… I mean I don’t criticize the movie, in fact, it’s a good movie, but to suddenly appear it in bus’ TV and watch it again unwillingly, it’s not amusing at all but I found myself smiling (in disbelief).

While I’m writing this on the notepad of my cellphone while travelling to Lucena, I’m taking a glimpse at the movie while thinking the next word and trying to ‘unpredict’ the next scene.

Misc

Since we’re on a bus movie topic, I just want to add one more experience. This happened several years ago when I’m not yet working here in Manila.

I was travelling to Manila to buy some gadget for my computer. Everything was normal, rode the bus, there’s a movie on board, the konduktor, etc. If I’m not mistaken, the movie was The Fast and the Furious, I just can’t recall which installment.

There’s the konduktor asked me where I’m headin’.

I arrived at my destination, bought what I need and ready to go back to Lucena. I accomplished the task in less than an hour. Here’s the real deal of this entry.
I was at EDSA/Ortigas waiting for a bus, luckily I didn’t wait long. I boarded the bus, and everything was familiar, the curtains, the TV, the DVD player. But what the heck, I thought, that’s possible the fact that it’s the same bus line I rode heading here. So in short, I dismissed the idea.

While travelling along SLEX, the movie started playing, a familiar one, a movie I saw several hours ago. Yeah you’ve guessed it right, The Fast and the Furious.

I just smiled when this konduktor approached me and asked:

“Sir, bumaba ka ba ng bus kanina?”

That’s when I finally convinced that I’m on the same bus I took when departing Lucena.

He didn’t ask any more question, he just handed me the ticket.

UPDATE: During my vacation in the Philippines (I'm working abroad now), I had to visit a former colleague in Manila. And it happened again!
